Edward is an IBJJF black belt under 6th degree Brazilan Jiu Jitsu Black belt and founder of the BJJ Revolution team Julio "Foca" Fernandez. Edward started his BJJ Journey in NYC at the legendary Renzo Gracie school where he trained under John Danaher. He is also a Brown Belt in Judo Under former Olympic Hopeful Nick Kosser. Edward is an active competitor and has competed all over the country in many prestigious tournaments. He is a 2 time Pan American gold medalist and was ranked #1 in the world in his division as both a Purple and brown belt. As a Black Belt Edward has competed and Medaled in Boston,Paris, Mexico City, Barcelona, New York, San Antonio, Dallas, Paris and Toronto. Currently Edward is Ranked top 40 in the world out of all Black Belts and all weight classes in his Division by the IBJJF.
Edward is also a NASM certified performance enhancement specialist. He is certified in TRX, Kettlebell, Medicine Ball, and prehab/rehab just to name a few. He has managed and directed numerous personal training facilities in New York City and has been in the industry for over a decade. Edward started as a personal trainer and within 4 years worked his way up to becoming the director of one of the most successful gym chains in New York City holding multiple industry records. He is also an expert on supplementation and diet which he has researched and experimented with for 16 years. Using this knowledge he created the Discipline Diet.
Bill Schwartz is a lifelong student of martial arts and combat sports. He has trained with many of the top ranked grapplers in the world and competed in some of the largest tournaments. His specialized teaching style comes from a background in collegiate sports, behavior therapy, special education, and developmental disability service coordination. Bill adapts instruction to the entire spectrum of martial art student, successfully coaching children, beginners, law enforcement, military, and all levels of mixed martial artist. He brings a traditional philosophy while staying current with the latest trends and adaptations in sport and street Jiu-Jitsu.
Benji is a brown belt under Edward Anthony. He has been doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over 7 years. His personality and attention to detail makes him the perfect instructor for young ages. Ii is almost impossible to learn from Benji and not have a smile on your face.
Joe "Josferatu" Zakriski
Joe "Josferatu" Zakriski has trained many style of martial arts, but his main focus is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He holds a BS in Physical Education and an MS in Health Education and uses his knowledge of teaching to his advantage as he teaches students of any age. Joe is a Purple belt under Edward Anthony.
Angela Kolewe is a purple belt under Edward Anthony. She has been training jiu jitsu for three years. She has competed and won her divisions at multiple tournaments such as the New York Open, NAGA, The Good Fight, Mission Submission, and the VT Open. She has been a leader in starting a women's specific Jiu Jitsu program and has routinely assisted with the children's program. Angela is extremly dedicated to jiu jitsu and the Atlas family. Her passion shines through to everyone she instructs
Shannon had his first amateur boxing match at the age of eight and for the next ten years took the boxing circuit by storm. During his professional career he had a record of 17-5 with 9 knockouts and one no contest. In his career he would earn the ESPN fight of the year award in 2005 with his epic battle with Vinny Maddalone. He also would fight for the NYS heavyweight title at Madison square garden. His second to last fight was against multiple time heavyweight champion of the world Hasim Rahman. In February 2011 Shannon underwent surgery where he donated 60% of his liver to his uncle ray who was suffering from liver cancer. In his last fight (where he became the first fighter on record to donate their liver and fight again) just 10 months after surgery in December of 2011 He finished his career with a decision win.
Kenny has fought all over the world and has been a local legend for over 30 years. He is known all over the capital region for his excellent striking and his ability to teach.
Mark has been training in brazilian jiu jitsu for over three years and is a blue belt under Edward Anthony. He has been working with children for over eight years in various capacities. Mark is also a Naga champion and loves to share his knowledge to all the kids on the mat.
